I bought some Scottish tablet from Aldi the other day, it evoked my memory of taking oral polio vaccine when I was in China. In this essay, we discuss reason why that happened. We start of by discussing polio vaccine, especially the oral variant. We then explore how tablet (the confectionary) is made. Then we explore my personal story of how I got vaccinated against polio and how I had been looking for a sweet that tasted like the Chinese oral polio vaccine. We finally look at the evolution of polio vaccination scheme in China.
