 Mulan's relationship with Huawei is something which is still shrouded in mystery.  What we do know is that she has a "great deal of affection" for the Chinese company and has a "very strong affinity towards the company".  However, there is some confusion about when and how her relationship with Huawei began. Mulan's relationship with Huawei was first discussed in 2015, but she was not given any formal role in the company's business. Her involvement was limited to a small group of executives in the company, who met Mulan at the company's headquarters in Chengdu in July 2015 to discuss a number of upcoming projects.
